On the outside, you’re a work of perfection,
Beautiful and confident, with a mysterious expression,
Everyone sees the mask of a pure complexion ,
But deep down you’re suffering from depression,

A tear lingers in the corner of your eye,
I’ve watched you sink farther below,
Where you think no one hears you cry,
You don’t have to sit in the dark all alone,
As if your problems are completely unknown,
Unheard of and unworthy to disown,
A problem is not impossible to dethrone,
Your eyes are the window to your soul,
Well honey, I’ve looked beyond your mask,
And it didn’t take long for me to know,
That you need the help for which you’d never ask,
So to you I offer my friendly hand,
Take it, and I’ll show you exactly where you stand,
And all the wonders that God has planned,
Because your life isn’t just good; it’s grand.
Writer’s Block
Blank words on a blank page,
Angry, unused pen stares angrily at my face,
Thoughts and feelings run wild,
Through my mind so utterly unraveled,
They stop before they hit my lips,
Like a child on the floor throwing a fit,
They don’t want to be seen,
Their beauty far too sheen,
Can be torn through by proud passers-by,
Who look at them through a judgmental eye,
What to do with words so unwilling?
I’m like a blue jay with no song to sing,
Pick up the pen and try again?
Yet the words still won’t go from mind to pen,
The paper stares, longing to feel the gentle caress of ink,
But with empty whiteness so loud who can think?!
Not I,
For I,
Am currently being mocked,
By the cruel visit of Writer’s Block.
Beloved
I delight in the wonders of Your eyes,
Your heart reveals the depths of my soul,
Here in Your presence, there are no goodbyes,
I gave You my life, I gave You full control,
You carry me on wings of an angel,
There’s nothing in this world that can bring me down,
Because with You, I’m nothing but able,
Your light shines through me to those around,
They see Your glory in my eyes of fire,
Because I’m burning for You,
My soul is filled with desire,
I gave You my life and You came through,
I don’t walk by sight, I walk by faith,
I will follow You to the end time,
Walk with me in this secret place,
For I am Your beloved, and You are mine,
Show me the path I am to follow,
I’ll gladly go where You take me,
With no worries of tomorrow,
‘Cause I know You’ll never break me,
I delight in the wonders of You,
Here in this secret place,
I see You in the most precious hue,
For You have met me, face to face.
Fight
You can push me, tempt me, and test me,
But I know God has blessed me,
I will never walk away from the light,
‘Cause He ran after me with all His might,
So try as you may, but I’ll never go your way,
Not today, tomorrow, or the next day,
I can walk down the darkest of roads,
And He’ll bring me through wherever I go,
There is nothing in this world to fear,
When God is there to wipe away the tears,
He’s given us a perfect life,
The question is… Are you prepared to fight?
The Devil deceives and leads to misconception,
He’ll tell you God’s not taking you in the right direction,
He’ll even come to you in disguise,
But don’t give into his unholy lies,
God is there, always there, ever present,
Waiting for you to begin your heavenly ascent,
So tell the Devil to go back where he came from,
And watch as God’s mighty kingdom comes.
